About Empire Health FoundATION
Empire Health Foundation’s (EHF) vision is to transform the health of the region we serve. Every investment we make goes toward creating measurable, sustainable health improvements. We believe that health is a fundamental human right. EHF boldly advances health equity in eastern Washington and beyond. As collaborators, we pursue innovative solutions and transform systems to improve health and quality of life.
Empire Health Foundation is proud to partner with Premera on the announcement of the Washington State Rural Facilities Capital Grants Partnership Fund. The Fund is intended to support the advancement of quality healthcare in under-resourced communities by making grants to hospitals, outpatient clinics, and other healthcare providers in rural areas of Washington State.
These grants will be for equipment and small capital projects that rural healthcare facilities may have difficulty funding due to capital constraints. Investments in the infrastructure of rural clinics can contribute to increased access to services for patients by adding new technology or equipment that may have been previously unavailable. Improvements to health facilities and equipment also have a proven positive impact on physician retention and recruitment.
The Rural Facilities Capital Grants Partnership program is designed to address one-time capital needs in rural Washington State.
Eligible Organizations are defined as Critical Access Hospitals, Sole Community Hospitals, Community Health Centers, Tribal Clinics and Hospitals, Rural Health Centers, and Outpatient Clinics in Rural Areas.
Rural areas are defined as areas meeting the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s definition of a non-urban area and/or qualifying under the Rural Health Information Hub's 'Am I Rural' Tool.
Eligible Projects are defined as short-term capital projects, including the purchase or upgrade of medical or dental equipment and technology, building renovations and restorations, furnishings, and appliances.
Grant Awards will be for $25,000 up to $100,000.
